Oti Mabuse is due to show Strictly Come Dancing bosses what they’re missing with a performance on this weekend’s Dancing On Ice.
The professional dancer announced she was leaving the BBC dancing show this week after seven years.
The 31-year-old will take a break from judging on the ITV skating show to perform a slot adapted from her new stage show, I Am Here.
The ITV production team are constructing a special platform for Sunday’s show where Oti will dance above the centre of the rink on a stage.
Skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean will skate around Oti along with the Dancing On Ice pro skaters.
Oti told The Sun how the performance is a “dream come true”.
She also explained how it will be an honour to perform a routine choreographed by skating legends Torvill and Dean.
Oti said: “It’s a dream come true to debut my I Am Here tour on Dancing On Ice this Sunday!
“This tour will be the end of the most amazing chapter of my life and it’s my way to say thank you to everyone that has supported me on this journey.”
During her seven years on BBC’s Strictly, Oti is the only pro dancer to lifted the Glitterball trophy twice in consecutive years, with Bill Bailey in 2020 and former Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher in 2019.
Torvill and Dean famously won gold at the 1984 World Championships dancing to Ravel’s Bolero.
64-year-old Torvill said: “We always love to experiment with new ideas and it was so much fun working alongside Oti on this brand new routine.
“It really does show how much dance and ice skating can work in unison together.”
Dean also said he was extremely excited about the upcoming routine.
ITV bosses have described the performance as a fusion of ice and dance.
