Piers Morgan has often spoken out about his love for the Queen and everything she has been through over the past few years.
Since the start of the global pandemic, Her Majesty has been forced to tackle alleged scandals and racism claims within the royal household as well as stripping royals of their former titles.
Now, in the wake of Prince Andrew losing his HRH status, the 56-year-old has penned a sorrowful message to the monarch who has been caught in the middle of yet another scandal.
Following the Buckingham Palace’s announcement that the Duke of York had been stripped of his military titles and royal patronages, the former Good Morning Britain host took to Twitter to share his empathy online.
The doting dad, who has been following the current events in Britain remotely from his home in Los Angeles, confessed: “I feel so sorry for the Queen.
“In the last year she’s lost the love of her life, endured the Monarchy she heads being repeatedly trashed by the Sussex clowns & suffered what must be any mother’s nightmare over Andrew’s deplorable conduct.
“She’s 95, and deserves so much better,” he added.
It comes after the palace released a statement confirming the change in royal titles as the Jeffrey Epstein sexual abuse case continues to develop.
It read: “With the Queen’s approval and agreement, the Duke of York’s military affiliations and Royal patronages have been returned to the Queen.
“The Duke of York will continue not to undertake any public duties and is defending this case as a private citizen.”
On Wednesday it was announced that Virginia Giuffre is suing Prince Andrew in federal court in New York alleging she was forced to have sex with many of Jeffrey’s friends – including the Duke of York – when she was 17.
He has strongly denies all allegations put forward to him and his representatives say that fighting the case has become a “marathon not a sprint.”
Since then, the Royal Family have firmly distanced themselves from the continued fall-out of the controversial allegations as the Duke prepares to defend himself against his alleged victim as a private citizen.
But that’s not the only issue the former Britain’s Got Talent judge has had when it came to defending the Queen, as the star hit out at Boris Johnson for attending a garden party at No.10 while the rest of the country respected the Covid lockdown rules.
This even included Her Majesty after she was forced to sit alone at her late husband’s funeral service last April as the country continues the fight against the coronavirus.
And the star was quick to blame the Prime Minister online as he penned a lengthy message about his flouting of the rules online.
He wrote: “REMINDER: Boris Johnson made the Queen sit alone at her husband’s funeral, just as he separated so many families in their darkest moments in this pandemic.
“Yet at all the time he and his staff were brazenly ignoring their own rules with endless illegal parties at No.10.
“Just outrageous hypocrisy and a disgusting slap in the teeth to everyone, like Her Majesty, who followed the rules at often great personal sacrifice.”
He continued: “That’s why this scandal is now rightly pushing the Prime Minister towards a political cliff edge. His authority has been destroyed at the altar of shameful double standards.”
