The Queen’s response to a swipe made by comedian Omid Dijalli, 56, during the Jubilee celebrations has left viewers in stiches.
ITV’s The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebration aired on Sunday (May 15) and was the first major event of the Monarch’s Platinum Jubilee.
Phillip Schofield, 60, and Julie Etchingham, 52, hosted the event and saw a host of celebrities come together to mark the Monarch’s 70 years on the throne.
As the proceedings came to an end, funny man Omid couldn’t resist a cheeky joke about the Queen, 96, for missing the State Opening Of Parliament but instead for attending the Jubilee event at the Windsor castle.
Omid first thanked the audience and said: “Thank you to the Great British public who have shown up tonight, in the back there, wearing comfortable shoes and light rain-wear.”
He then hilariously looked at the Queen and said: “Your Royal Highness, on behalf of everyone here, we would like to thank you, very humbly, for picking us over the State Opening of Parliament.
“You did the right thing and I won £5 in a bet with my local kebab shop owner in Ipswich.”
To which Her Royal Highness simply smiled and gave a wave of acknowledgement to the crowd while recognising the humorous dig.

It didn’t take long for viewers of the ITV show to share their reactions to the funny moment on social media.
One viewer tweeted: “Best moment was the Queen’s response to Omid Djalili: she simply smiled and waved! priceless.”
Another penned: “The Queen smiling at Omid’s Djalili’s joke made me cry with giggles.”
On Sunday evening, the Monarch was given a standing ovation when she was driven into the Royal Windsor Horse Show arena, accompanied by her son Prince Edward.

A whole host of A-list stars took to the stage, re-enacting key moments of royal history, including Dame Helen Mirren, Tom Cruise, Damian Lewis, Adjoa Andoh, Gregory Porter, Alan Titchmarsh and Katherine Jenkins.
Her Majesty was forced to miss the State Opening of Parliament and couldn’t deliver the Queen’s Speech due to mobility issues but reportedly watched on TV from the comfort of her Windsor Castle home.
She instead delegated her constitutional duties to the Prince Charles and Prince William.
