Celebrities call for the Wagatha Christie trial to be turned into a musical

The Wagatha Christie trial should be turned into a musical, according to gripped celebrities.

Comedian and Loose Women star Jenny Eclair, said the on-going High Court battle between Rebekah Vardy and Coleen Rooney would be a great song and dance show.

She is among a host of stars captivated by the £3million libel trial, which resumes in London later today (May 16).

Jenny, 62, who once starred in ITV’s I’m A Celebrity like Rebekah, tweeted: “Please can this be a musical.”

Coronation Street writer and playwright Jonathan Harvey, 53, added: “Music and lyrics by The Wurzels.”

Liverpool poet Roy – aka PJ Smith – tweeted: “Can’t wait for the three part drama on ITV.

“Caroline Quentin will have to be involved. I may as well play Wayne. Martin Freeman as Gareth Southgate.”

The high court trial came after Rebekah began legal proceedings against Coleen to sue her for libel, after she claimed that Rebekah had been leaking stories to the press via Instagram, back in October 2019.

After a number of her social media posts that were restricted to family and friends were reported in the press, Coleen set up a “sting operation” to catch out the perpetrator.

She claimed she had suspected Rebekah for almost a year, due to her relationship with The Sun newspaper and her “desire to be famous”.

Coleen has claimed that Rebekah “wanted to be famous” and staged paparazzi shots.

She also said that she doubted Rebekah leaked the stories for financial gain, but to maintain a good relationship with the press.

After a few months, she set up a sting operation and posted a “dummy run” of stories in a bid to catch her out.

After feeling confident it was Rebekah, she decided to go public with her claims.
