Robbie Williams’ wife Ayda Field has urged her Instagram followers to ‘get checked’ as she shared a selfie from a hospital bed.
The former X Factor judge, 43, bravely revealed that she underwent a colonoscopy as she shared a selfie of herself wearing a hospital gown, facemask and disposable hair net.
Ayda cheekily captioned the post: “Colonoscopy chic #getchecked #colonoscopy.”
She bounced back in style after the examination, posting a glamorous selfie posing in her car.
Ayda wore a pair of oversized sunglasses and a green jumper, telling fans: “Feeling better and ready to tackle the rest of this day…”
The former Loose Women panelist then treated herself to a restaurant meal, opting for some bread as a starter, and washed it down with a martini.
For her main she had a burger and portion of chips, and a cookie for dessert.
Colonoscopies are effective screening methods for colon cancer, rectal cancer, and other diseases.
A colonoscopy is a procedure that examines the large intestine – the colon – and the rectum to identify changes or abnormalities.
A colonoscope, a long, flexible tube, is placed into the rectum during a colonoscopy and the doctor can see the interior of the colon due to a tiny video camera at the tube’s tip.
Ayda’s mother Gwen Field, 72, was diagnosed with stage two cervical cancer in 2020. She also has Parkinson’s and an “aggressive” tumour after the cancer spread to her cervix.
Meanwhile, it has been rumoured that former model Ayda – who has recently moved back to the UK with Robbie and their children from their home in Switzerland – is eyeing up a return to the Loose Women panel.
She last appeared on the hit ITV show in December 2019.
A source told The Sun: “ITV have made it clear she is more than welcome to return to the panel as she was a hugely popular character — not only with viewers but also with everyone who works on the show.
“Ayda has amazing A-list connections — and with Robbie as her husband, she always has a hilarious tale or two to tell.”
Robbie and Ayda met in 2006 through a mutual friend and married in 2010.
They share four children – Theodora, Charlton, Colette and Beau.
