The former Blue Peter presenter is currently favourite to win Strictly 2022.

Helen has previous dancing experience thanks to her stint in the Strictly Christmas special in 2012.

She was paired with former Strictly pro Artem Chigvintsev and they came in second place.

The presenter scored a 37 for her Jive to Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas Is You, narrowly losing out to JLS star JB Gill who scored 39.

However, she told metro.co.uk that the past experience will not give her an advantage over other contestants as the training was “only four days”.

She added: “I have no knowledge. I think it was a good chance though because when we were at rehearsals, everyone was like “woah, there was a lot to take in,” but because I had that I was like “yay, there’s a lot to take in’.

“I feel grateful that some of the people that I worked with on the crew were the same people who were on Blue Peter back in 2008.”

The Countryfile host also has tap-dancing experience and she bagged a Ken Dodd tap-dance award when she was 17.

Helen previously said that she signed for Strictly to cheer herself up and “smile” again following her marriage split.

In April, the former Blue Peter host and her rugby player husband Richie Myler – who have three children – broke up after nine years together.

And when asked why she agreed to do Strictly, Helen said: “I just wanted to do something fun. It was a good chance for my family to see me smiling and it’s a fun adventure.”
