Susanna Reid has said she still reads former colleague Piers Morgan’s columns and is pleased to see he still has “very strong opinions about things”.
The TV star regularly hosted Good Morning Britain with Piers before he quit amid the Meghan Markle row.
But she said he is still a “very good friend”.
Susanna, 51, told The Sun that she and Piers have got together since he left the ITV programme in March 2021 and that they are likely to meet up again soon.
After saying she reads the broadcaster’s columns “religiously”, she went on: “He has very strong opinions about things and I’m glad to see that hasn’t changed.”
“We’re still in touch and I’m sure I will be meeting up again soon, we’ve had a drink since he left… he’s still a very good friend,” she added.
Susanna, 51, has previously said that she learned a few things working alongside Piers, who is known for being outspoken and for not holding back much when it comes to sharing his opinions.
Earlier this year, she suggested his approach had rubbed off on her a bit during their years on-screen together.
“I do feel that I am thicker skinned, more resilient, bolder, but with sensitivity,” the mum-of-three told The Sun’s Fabulous magazine.
“You grow as a presenter and whatever job you’re doing, and whoever you’re working with, you’ll probably pick up some of their things but also develop your own skills as well.
“Piers is one of the influences on the way that I operate, but there are many influences,” she added.
Meanwhile, Piers is about to launch his eagerly anticipated new programme on TalkTV.
The 57-year-old star – who has aired his views on “woke” culture plenty of times – has said he wants his programme to cancel “cancel culture”.
