A player on today’s instalment of The Chase left viewers baffled after rejecting an offer of £60,000 from chaser Anne Hegerty.
Jamie, a policeman from Grimsby, was the last man standing after other 3 contestants were knocked out.
After consulting presenter Bradley Walsh he decided to reject Anne’s offer and keep the £6k he had banked.
Jamie continued to the final round where he eventually lost his £6k and went home empty handed.
Fans of the show took to Twitter to tell of their disbelief of his decision.
One wrote: “@ITVChase last man standing, surely you would go high. Jeez.”

Another said: “Last man standing ??? Go big or go home !!!!!!!!!!.”
A third raged: “Eh, 6k really. You’re the only one left. Has to be the high offer. Idiot!.”
A fourth added: “Pointless. you go high when you’re the only one left.”
Other fans hit out at Bradley and accused him of giving Jamie “bad advice”.
One enraged social media user said: “Rubbish advice Brad if he doesn’t get through this round unlikely that he will out score in the final.”

A second added: “Bradley Walsh absolutely wrong to advise Jamie NOT to go for the £60,000 as the last player when he smashed it. Grrr.”
Jamie revealed before he started playing that his hobby is blacksmithing and that he would buy an anvil if he won big on the show.
Anne joked as she made her offer: “It would all be yours, you have nothing to lose – you could get yourself a diamond encrusted anvil for £60,000.”
Jamie sounded tempted with the huge cash amount offered to him, saying “that’s a lot of money that, a lot of money”.

With no contestants left to consult, Bradley stepped in to give Jamie advice on what to do, and urged him turn his nose up at the cash.
He said: “So I reckon I personally would go 6, I wouldn’t go for it because I think 6 is yours, that’s enough for your anvil, I think that’s what you need – I think 60 is just one too close, I don’t know.”
Jamie immediately agreed and said: “That’s pretty good advice Brad to be fair, I’ll take the 6.”
The Chase continues weekdays on ITV at 5pm.
