This Morning's Phil and Holly floored as they unveil huge set change no one noticed

This Morning presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby were left stunned by a huge show change during the latest episode.

The regular hosts returned to the ITV programme earlier this week for the first time since their lengthy summer break.

Wednesday’s show (September 7) began with Phil and Holly giggling between themselves as Phil swiftly explained the reason behind their laughter to viewers.

The presenter, 60, revealed that he and Holly had just noticed the studio’s floor had been refurbished while they were away.

Phil said: “We’ve only just looked down because neither of us were standing on the right mark and said, ‘ooh, it’s a new floor.'”

Explaining how other distractions made them not realise the change earlier in the week, Holly added: “This time, we’re here and it’s the first time you start looking around and you start noticing different things.

Over their summer break, a number of presenters filled in for the absent Phil and Holly.

After regular Friday show presenters Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary initially took the lead, hosts including Rochelle Humes, Vernon Kay, Craig Doyle and Josie Gibson stepped up to the fore.

Alongside Rylan Clark, former This Morning presenter Ruth Langsford also presented a week’s worth of episodes.

Wednesday’s show saw the presenters continue to get back into the swing of things as they interviewed Queen of Shops Mary Portas and Poldark star Aidan Turner.

This Morning airs from 10am on weekdays on ITV.
