Eamonn Holmes has slammed Phillip Schofield’s latest statement as “delusional” and warned him: “If you’re looking for a fight, you have picked on the wrong person.”
Phil, 61, released a statement earlier in the day (May 29) in which he slammed people speaking out against him and This Morning, saying they just had a “grudge”.
But taking another swipe, Eamonn, 63, hit back on Twitter saying: “Schofield has just put out a delusional statement.

“Like Holly [Willoughby] he puts it on Insta Stories so if it goes wrong there is no record after 24 hours.
“I’m reluctant to give the liar any more publicity but believe me Pip, if you are looking for a fight, you have picked on the wrong person!”
Just an hour before, Schofe released his own statement which read: “Now I no longer work on This Morning I am free to say this.
“I hope you have noticed that it’s the same handful of people with a grudge against me or the show who seem to have the loudest voice.
“This Morning is the best show to work on, with the best people.
“In all the years I worked there there was no toxicity.
“You can listen to those persistently loud voices if you like.
“But the thousands of guests over the years, thousands of staff and crew, hundreds of presenters and contributors all know, it is a family of wonderful, talented, kind, hard working people.”
This isn’t the first time Eamonn has spoken out against his former colleague, who sensationally quit ITV last week after admitting to an affair with a younger man on the show.
After Schofe’s confession, Eamonn tweeted: “Ruth and I [were] deceived and lied to. One day I will tell the story.
“We had no issue with him being gay, only support. What transpired took us for fools.
“The man told us complete lies and we unfortunately believed him.”
He also slammed Phil’s previous statement in which he said he was leaving This Morning.
Eamonn said: “All this nonsense about, ‘I’ve decided to step down’ I’m sure you did,” he sarcastically continued. “Now here’s your P45, now step down. Why do we propagate this language? ‘I’ve decided to step down’ and [Holly] says the couch won’t feel the same without him people there.
“Well she wanted him not there, so why is she moaning about the couch not feeling the same for? They deserve each other.”
He added: “Holly knows the truth, the story is with her.”
Later, Holly went on to brand Phil’s lies “hurtful”.
