Emily Blunt addresses Barbie vs Oppenheimer ‘feud’ as films battle at box office

Emily Blunt has addressed the cinema battle between her film Oppenheimer and Barbie – and revealed what the public should do.

The Hollywood actress, 40, plays Cillian Murphy’s on-screen wife Kitty Oppenheimer in Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster flick which hits cinemas on Friday (July 21), the same day as Greta Gerwig’s Barbie.

It means the two mega films will be competing with each-other at the box office to pull in the most punters.

She told TalkRadio: “They’re exquisitely written scenes, and it’s a sort of time for [my character] Kitty to sort of reclaim that brilliant brain that is sort of deteriorated throughout the course of the film.

“And it was very claustrophobic in there. I remember [in a trial scene] we were all expecting a big courtroom.

“In actuality, it was a tiny, shabby little room, where he was really just, you know, dragged across the coals and so it was a tiny, shabby, little room that we shot those scenes in.”
