Susanna Reid was left cringing over Jeremy Clarkson on Tuesday morning’s Good Morning Britain (January 17).
Former Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson has apologised to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for a column he wrote in The Sun in which he said he “hated” Megan.
In Clarkson’s column published in December, he said he was “dreaming of the day when she is made to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while crowds chant, ‘Shame!’ and throw lumps of excrement at her”.

However, the column sparked a bitter backlash from the public and now the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? host has apologised to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Unfortunately for Clarkson, Prince Harry and Meghan have rejected his apology and accused him of writing articles that “spread hate rhetoric, dangerous conspiracy theories and misogyny”.
Susanna looked gobsmacked when reading out an update from Jeremy as she couldn’t believe he contacted the couple of Christmas Day of all days – a time when Harry and Meghan were probably trying to enjoy time with their children.
She read aloud part of his latest statement which read: “I therefore wrote to everyone who works with me saying how sorry I was and then on Christmas morning, I emailed Harry and Meghan in California to apologise to them too.”
She asked: “Really? On Christmas Day? Is that appropriate?” before sarcastically adding that it was their “Christmas card” from Jeremy.
A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan dismissing Jeremy’s apology was shared to Instagram on Monday (January 16).
It read: “On December 25, 2022, Mr Clarkson wrote solely to Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex. The contents of his correspondence were marked private and confidential.
“While a new public apology has been issued today by Mr Clarkson, what remains to be addressed is his long-standing pattern of writing articles that spread hate rhetoric, dangerous conspiracy theories and misogyny.”

It added: “Unless each of his other pieces were also written ‘in a hurry’, as he states, it is clear that this is not an isolated incident shared in haste, but rather a series of articles shared in hate.”
Clarkson himself described his column as “disgraceful” and insisted he is “profoundly sorry” for his words about Meghan.
