Hollyoaks star’s forgotten role in Channel 4 soap 10 years before Cheryl Taylor stint

Hollyoaks star Tina Harris is currently playing the Cheryl Taylor, the mother of Brent Taylor, in the Channel 4 soap.

She made her debut as Cheryl last month when viewers believed that her son was deceased. However, in a shock soap twist, Brent (Jesse Fox) was seen alive and well and it was revealed that his ex Rayne Royce (Jemma Donovan) had made up the sick lie.

Rayne told her boyfriend Romeo Nightingale (Owen Warner) that she had texted Brent before his death, daring him to kill himself unaware he’d actually go through with it.

However, it was later revealed that Brent was in fact alive but Rayne has since been murdered and there is an ongoing police investigation into her suspicious death. Brent is on the suspects and Cheryl has been determined to clear her son’s name.

Away from the drama in the village, actress Tina has also appeared in Peak Practice, Happy Valley, Red Dwarf, Silent Witness, Coronation Street and Doctors. Fans may also remember that she played Doctor Simmons in Hollyoaks, who performed a cochlear transplant on little Oscar Osborne, back in February 2014.

Cheryl turned up in the village in recent scenes and overheard that Romeo had gone missing. She then accused the youngster of doing a runner because he’s guilty of murdering Rayne. An incensed James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan) hit back and claimed that Brent was obsessed with Rayne.

He cited Brent’s shrine and willingness to kidnap for Rayne as evidence, arguing that Brent’s obsession led him to kill her. “[Romeo’s] gone away to clear his head. I suggest you do the same,” James told Cheryl. After Cheryl walked away, Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) revealed to James that Romeo deleted all his social media accounts and wondered why he’d do that.

Prince McQueen (Malique Thopson-Dwyer) later bumped into Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell), who told him she hadn’t seen Romeo for a few days. However, Peri and Romeo later agreed that they need to keep something about what happened on the day of Rayne’s death a secret at all costs.

Back at James’, Ste brought up Romeo deleting his socials again and admitted that he couldn’t shake how guilty it’s making Romeo look. He told his husband: “You need to face up to the fact that Romeo might be the person who killed Rayne” as viewers saw Romeo with his hood up and a large bag trying to sneak out of the village.

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day at 7pm
