Vinta Morgan has been a member of the Coronation Street family for two years after he first joined the ITV soap in 2021.
Playing the role of Ronnie Bailey, who set foot on the cobbles after dramatically walking out on his wife and business partner Kat Morgan, has already made Corrie his home. However, Vinta has been reflecting on a minor role he had whilst starring on another legendary soap, EastEnders.
Long before Vinta joined the cast of Corrie, he had landed a small role on the BBC soap set in Walford, playing the role of police officer PC Phillips. Morgan bagged the role in 2005, and his appearance was related to the devastating disappearance of teens Leo Taylor and Demi Miller.

Vinta only starred in ten episodes of the show, but now looking back at his small time on Albert Square, he said it was a great opportunity for him at the time. Speaking to Inside Soap earlier this year, Vinta reflected on his time on the show: “It was a while ago! It was a story where a kid was in trouble and I was a police officer who went above and beyond.”
He continued: “It was about 10 episodes, but of course it was no comparison to Corrie, the pinnacle of soap TV!” he then joked. Obviously, they’re both massive TV institutions, so I felt lucky to work there, but I do love it here at Corrie.” On the cobbles, Vinta’s character Ronnie has shocked the residents of the street, as he announced he had plans for the iconic Rovers Return.
His plans to turn the pub into a block of flats have left landlady Jenny Connor heartbroken, as she desperately tries to salvage what is left of her business. To make matters worse, the pub was forced to close after a company called Waterford’s shut the establishment down. Viewers have been pleading with ITV bosses to keep the pub going, but soap director Iain MacLeod admitted that changes were coming for the pub.

But is everything as it seems for Jenny, who has felt devastated by Ronnie’s betrayal? Boss MacLeod added that the pub will not be closed for long, but the reopening of the Rovers could be put against the backdrop of a “criminal act”.
Coronation Street airs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
