Jamie Lynn Spears appeared to snub her sister Britney Spears on Sunday (November 19) as I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here got off to a dramatic start on ITV.
The 32-year old’s surprise casting in the jungle year this year is bound to interest viewers, particularly in the wake of the release of her elder sibling’s tell-all memoir, The Woman In Me. The relationship between the pair has become strained in recent years after Toxic singer Britney accused Jamie Lynn of not being supportive during her 13-year conservatorship ordeal.
And Jamie Lynn later antagonised the situation with the release of her own book in 2022 – Things I Should Have Said: Family, Fame, and Figuring it Out. Britney was said to be livid at the “public betrayal” at the time, branding her as “scum” for airing “false or fantastical grievances”.

Now, it appears Jamie Lynn is reluctant to be drawn into any discussion surrounding Brit after failing to reference her in a chat with co-star Josie Gibson about her “musical family”.
Following their first meeting in camp, This Morning star Josie couldn’t resist quizzing the Zoey 101 star about her career, as she probed: “Who got you into music then?” It prompted Jamie Lynn to respond: “I’ve always kind of been into music, you know what I mean?”
Josie continued her grilling: “Very musical family aren’t you? Was your grandma into it?” Seemingly refusing to take the bait, Jamie Lynn simply offered: “Yeah.” A subtle dig followed, as she added: “My mum played the piano a lot.”
It could be argued that Jamie Lynn doesn’t feel comfortable going into detail about her sister, owing to the fact she doesn’t know any of her campmates. She confessed they’ve all given her a decent first impression, however, as she opened up on her adventure Down Under so far.
“Everyone so far has made a wonderful impression on me – I’m the only American here,” she explained. “Everyone’s been really kind and really nice. I’m really impressed. Maybe I’m being really naive.” Detailing her career in response, former Big Brother winner Josie told her: “I’m a TV presenter. I work on this show called This Morning. It’s so fun, it’s so good.”
And introducing some of the other celebs, she continued: “Fred [Sirieix], do you know who Fred is? He’s a restaurateur. Ever watched First Dates? It’s brilliant.” She then asked Jamie Lynn: “Nigel [Farage], do you know who Nigel is? Nigel is an MP.”
Appearing perplexed, Jamie Lynn asked: “What’s that mean?” prompting Josie to explain: “He’s an ex-politician.”
Jamie Lynn is reportedly under fire from ITV bosses already after refusing to take part in pre-show interviews. A source told MailOnline: “While it is a choice whether camp mates take part in the interviews, they usually do – no questions asked. But Jamie said no, that she didn’t want to speak before she entered the show. It was very disappointing, fans of the show are so excited about what she has to say.”
I’m A Celebrity continues Sunday to Friday at 9pm on ITV.
