Jigsaw better watch out – there’s a new mysterious kidnapper on the block who wants to play a game.
The Saw franchise has proved one of the most popular horror film series in history, birthing 10 films, a video game and even a rollercoaster based at Thorpe Park.
But if Jigsaw’s booby traps, gruesome killings and spooky puppet action proves too much for you, you’ll be glad to know there’s now a much more family-friendly version over on Pure Flix.

Known as the Christian version of Netflix, the faith-based streaming service offers a number of films and TV shows with a Godly angle.
And their thriller flick The Reconciler promises to be a more religious version of Saw.
The kidnapping of innocent victims who are forced to solve puzzles while trapped in a room together? Check.
A mysterious gravelly voice communicating with them from somewhere out of sight? Check.
An American Army veteran talking about God’s love? Erm, yep, that’s in there too.
The 2015 flick follows a group of strangers who are kidnapped and wake up in random places together – an abandoned warehouse, or the middle of a forest – with no idea how they got there.
Each character is then tasked with figuring out the answer to a puzzle in order to escape, while cops struggle to locate the mysterious stranger known only as The Reconciler.
In one scene from the tense trailer, a soldier and his son are handcuffed together, with one dangling precariously over a cliff.
In another, three people are locked in a room together, banging on the walls in an attempt to escape.
It turns out that the answer to each of the puzzles is to find room in their hearts for forgiveness, and to embrace God’s love.
Perhaps not so Saw-like after all.
The wholesome reason behind the kidnappings left some viewers with a sour taste.
One review said: “Have you ever wondered what it would be like if Saw was a Christian movie? Well, here you go. It’s as awful as you’d expect.”

Someone else said: “There’s a serial kidnapper going around and inconveniencing people and making them make nice on their interpersonal beefs.
“There’s also a woman going about interviewing religious people about how the world isn’t as good as it used to be and everyone needs to be more into Jesus.”
As another posted: “In the film Saw, which ‘inspired’ this, if people don’t go along with a serial killer’s horrifying. Coercive games, then they die. That’s sort of the whole deal with that franchise.
“Imagine my surprise when, in this film, NO ONE EVER DIES,” they fumed.
The reviewer concluded: “No interesting things happen on screen and most of the movie is people talking about God or telling a story that would be more interesting to actually see, but no we just see a bunch of boring Jesusy people talking the whole time. 1/10, kind of good bad at times but not worth it.”
Others were so disgusted by the movie they were left fighting nausea.
The flick has an average rating of 2.2 out of 10 on IMDb.
