Shane and Sinead were famously close, having teamed up on numerous occasions – most memorably for hit single Haunted.

Sinead once called the police on her friend which resulted in him being charged with drug possession.

In 2000, Shane was found with a small amount of heroin on his person after Sinead sounded the alarm.

Though the charges were eventually discontinued at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court in London.

In his tribute, Shane said: “”Sinead I love you and I hope you are at peace.”

At the time of his arrest, Sinead said she phoned emergency services after finding him collapsed on the floor of his home.

Sinead said: “I love Shane, and it makes me angry to see him destroy himself selfishly in front of those who love him.”

Prior to her passing, Sinead had created a final social media post which was a tribute to her late son Shane who took his own life last year aged 17.
