The Chase’s Mark Labbett ‘had breakdown’ on show after being ‘demoralised’ by players

The Chase’s Mark Labbett has explained himself after his followers were left questioning his attitude after the final chase on Wednesday night.

A team of three wound up beating him in the final chase and ultimately got to take home a whopping £20,000 between them after getting and executing five pushbacks. While it was a very impressive feat, viewers couldn’t help but notice a difference in Mark.

He has since taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, and explained what happened. He wrote: “I had a breakdown prior to the final chase, was utterly demoralised by yet another star team.

“I still applauded and congratulated the team but it was edited out :(.” One person responded: “I thought something was up. Normally there’s a cut by Bradley to the Chaser at the end to discuss the final chase, but this was strangely missing from this episode.”

Another said: “Are you okay? Hope someone is there for you.” While another added: “They were a good team, hope you are doing much better.”

Mark’s explanation came after a series of posts shared their concern for him while watching the show. One wrote: “A difficult start for Mark, but disappointing to see that he’d clearly given up.” It was also noticed by many fans that they didn’t show Mark’s response to the win.

Another person wrote: “Never seen Mark Labbett so flustered.” Despite Mark’s struggles he still shared his support for the team after they were able to take home a whopping figure.

Bradley asked them what they’d be spending the money on as he told them they’d be taking home £6,666 each. Rob told Bradley he’d be buying a camper van with the cash.

Viv said she would buy a less souped-up mini while Moira said she wanted a ‘semi-recline on the plane’. Bradley wrapped up by saying: “Good for you! Take the £20,000 and guess what? Split it equally.

“Run off into the sunset. You’ve not been caught, you’ve outrun the chaser. Well played.”

The Chase continues weekdays on ITV at 5pm
