A Place In The Sun’s Laura Hamilton lands huge new job after ‘turbulent’ year

A Place In The Sun star Laura Hamilton has landed a major new job away from the Channel 4 set.

The blonde bombshell shot to fame when she landed a presenting role on the daytime show back in 2011. Since then, she has gone from strength to strength and has even gone on to launch her own fashion line away from the cameras.

And it appears as though the 42-year-old property expert is still on the rise after it was revealed she will be presenting a new show away from the world of real estate. On Wednesday (September 18), it was announced that she will be hosting a new travel podcast, Mile Fly Club.

Each week, the mum-of-two will welcome a special guest into her club to share their first-class travel trips and turbulent life tales. The podcast promises listeners that no topic is off limits after a “turbulent last year”.

Speaking about her new adventure, Laura gushed: “After experiencing my fair share of life’s turbulence last year, I’m so excited to be flying into my next chapter by bringing ‘The Mile Fly Club’ to the airwaves. As well as featuring some never-before-heard stories about my personal travels, I’m also hoping to offer some great take home travel tips and advice.”

The first two episodes of her show have already dropped and feature Blue’s Duncan James and Jeff Brazier after he competed on BBC’s Race Across the World. She will also be chatting with the likes of ITV’s Laura Tobin, Bradley Walsh, and Strictly’s JB Gill in the upcoming weeks.

It comes after the broadcaster insisted she’s “happy and secure” after shutting down cruel trolls online. The mum-of-two regularly shows off her rock-hard abs and curvaceous figure in her sizzling snaps to her 200,000 fans on Instagram.

Although the majority of her followers shower her with compliments online, some leave nasty comments claiming she’s had work done in the past. The TV presenter has been accused of having a boob job and “tweakments” done to her face – both of which she denies.

Speaking to The Sun, Laura has addressed the cruel comments directly. She told the outlet: “It’s hard when you read comments like, ‘Oh, she’s done too much of this to her face’.

“And I think, ‘these are my cheekbones. I’ve done nothing to my cheekbones. That’s my face’. Or people say, ‘Oh, she’s got fake boobs’. And I’m like, ‘I haven’t actually. But if that’s what people want to believe’.”

Laura told the outlet called it “laughable” that people make such statements without knowing any facts. But she insisted that as she’s got older, she feels “more happy in myself and secure in myself and who I am” after years of struggling with her confidence.

She added: “You will always get criticism from somebody. They’re not liking you, or they’ll mention that you’ve got big boobs, small boobs, big legs, fat legs, short legs, long legs… you can never please everybody.

“The only person that you’ve really got to please and worry about is yourself. And as long as you’re happy with yourself that should really be all that matters.

“Those that are really close to me, that know me for me, my mum, dad and children. I’m very lucky that I’ve got a close group of very supportive friends who accept and love each other for who we are, and they know the truth. And that really is the most important thing.”
