Actor Tom Hollander has confessed he once got Tom Holland’s pay cheque after a name mix-up – and it was “more money than he’d ever” got.
The British stars have very similar names, and at one point even shared the same agency. And it was the two-letter difference in their names that caused Hollander to end up feeling quite deflated.
The 56-year-old White Lotus star made an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers to talk about new series Feud. There, he revealed he and Spider-Man star Holland often get mixed up.

And while it’s one thing for fans to confuse their names, it’s another for their acting agencies. But one particular blunder left Hollander feeling small next to the then 20-year-old.
He said: “People in the accounts department of my agency got confused. We were with the same agency, briefly.”
Hollander went on: “It was a terrible moment, I went to see my friend who was doing theatre in England for £300 a week and doing great work. I sat smugly in the audience having just done a BBC show for 30 grand or something which was gonna get me through the next year or so, I was thinking ‘well this is marvellous, I’m very prosperous’.”
But that happy feeling soon disappeared when he checked his emails. He explained he had received an email about a “box office bonus for The Avengers” – a film he hadn’t been in.
He said: “It was an astonishing amount of money, it was not his salary, it was his first box office bonus. Not the whole box office, the first one.
“It was more money than I’ve ever, it was a seven figure sum. He was 20, so my feeling of smugness disappeared very quickly.”
Hollander does of course have an impressive CV, with roles in the likes of Bohemian Rhapsody, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End to name a few. But it’s nothing compared to being a major part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Back in 2015, Holland signed a six-movie deal to play Spider-Man and made his debut in 2016 film Captain America: Civil War when he was 18. He has since starred in five more MCU movies, including three solo Spider-Man flicks.
Holland has an estimated net worth of $25million (£19.7m). On the other hand Hollander, while nothing to scoff at, is estimated to be worth $5m (£3.9m).
