Becks was front and centre, clearly chuffed to bits as he recorded his missus and her bandmates performing together for the first time in years. The footy legend proved he was a top-notch social media hubby, sharing the clip with his followers.
Proud as ever of his wife, he slapped on eight heart emojis and captioned the video: “I mean come on x @victoriabeckham @melaniecmusic @officialmelb @emmaleebunton @gerihalliwellhorner.”, reports the Mirror.
The internet went bonkers for the clip, with one fan raving: “David you are the best social media manager out there, thank you for giving the people CONTENT.” Another was over the moon, saying: “The moment the entire planet has been waiting for.”
And a third couldn’t help but chuckle: “I am crying cause David’s the groupie here.” “Spice Girls I really need you to do a tour or something,” one desperate fan pleaded.
Another tweeted excitedly: “The way a whole generation is SHAKING.” An eager fan confessed: “Literally would give my first born to be doing the STOP choreography with the girls.”
The group formed in 1994 and shot to fame around the world. The band was crushed in 1998 when Geri Horner departed during the Spiceworld Tour.
The remaining quartet carried the torch forward, along with pursuing solo careers, until their pause in music in 2000. In 2007, the reunion heard around the globe occurred, as each Spice Girl sang all the way to the bank with a £10 million payment for the tour.
After their global tour ended in 2008, they took another hiatus only to resurface at the 2012 Olympics, performing a spellbinding medley of Spice Up Your Life and Wannabe. Fast forward to 2019, all Spice Girls except Victoria regrouped for their sold-out Spice World 2019 Tour.
This year, Mel B has dropped hints that fans might be in for a full reunion. She told Today with Hoda & Jenna: “Well, I’ve been saying this forever, but now we’re actually going to be releasing some really good news in about a few weeks that involves all five of us.”
