Naga Munchetty was told not to go “too far with it” during a struggle in the studio.
The BBC Breakfast host was issued a warning by her co-host Roger Johnson on Thursday (June 20) during a segment about the Rubik’s Cube. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the popular puzzle, Naga tried to solve one in front of the cameras.
But she couldn’t do it and, according to her co-host Roger Johnson, she’s been trying to wrap her head around it since 5am. Introducing the segment, Roger said: “Talking about rubix cubes this morning.”

Revealing she wasn’t a fan, Naga admitted: “Things we don’t love.” Her co-host joked: “You’ve been getting very frustrated with that, five o clock in the morning,” before making an erratic movement to mimic Naga.
She said: “It’s the 50th anniversary of the Rubik’s Cube, well I’ve messed it up a few times and Elliot here, who is on our cameras has been fixing it for me, he’s told me I can’t go too far with it.”
Naga turned to Roger and asked: “Never solved it, have you?”. Roger, who replaced Charlie Stayt on the programme, admitted he hadn’t managed to do it either.
The pair were joined by professional Rubik’s Cube solver George Scholey, who gave viewers some tips about how to solve it and the function of each piece on the cube. He was asked: “What’s the attraction for you with solving these?”.
He replied: “Everyone has these natural interest in the cube. A lot of people have them in the house, they have them on their desk or in their room somewhere.”
“There was a massive resurgence after lockdown and it was initiated by that natural interest that you have and the reason I’m interested is just cos I like to sit down and have a go at something and see progress.”
“It was quite explicit with this from the get go, I was getting faster and I liked that feeling.”
Roger jumped in and asked the all-important question: “So how did you crack it? Did you watch videos figuring out how to do it and just practise? Yeah, exactly! It’s super accessible nowadays getting to the solving process, it’s fifty years since the cube”.
