The Strictly Come Dancing lineup is heating up as seven celebs have been confirmed for the dance floor, with one star already tipped for glory.
Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri has been revealed as the sixth contestant and she’s already a hot favourite to waltz away with the crown.
Fresh off her Love Island stint, the blonde bombshell and second-ever deaf contestant has shot up the bookies’ list, now sitting pretty at 6-1 to snag the Glitterball trophy, just behind JLS heartthrob JB Gill who’s at 5-1.
Coral’s John Hill said: “Tasha Ghouri has a huge following on social media, and we think she will prove a big hit on Strictly. She has been installed as the second favourite behind former JLS star JB Gill.”
Not to be outdone, TOWIE’s Pete Wicks was announced as lucky number seven and he’s also causing a stir with odds of 10-1, reports the Mirror.
John dished more: “Pete Wicks is not too far off the top of the betting and has attracted some early support too since he was confirmed to be on the show,” Hill revealed.
Joining Tasha and Pete are four other fab names including Celebrity Masterchef winner Wynne Evans, Morning Live’s Punam Krishan, 80s pop legend Toyah Wilcox, and funnyman Chris McCausland.
After her official announcement on Kiss FM’s breakfast show on Wednesday, Tasha took to Instagram to share an emotional post about her dream becoming a reality.
She wrote: “This has been the hardest secret to keep. I’M GOING ON STRICTLY COME DANCING!!! @bbcstrictly It has been no secret I have craved this challenge for years – I’m still speechless that this is actually happening!”
The reality star then revealed she’s been singing and dancing at home since she was a child and is excited to push herself beyond her “knowledge”.
She added: “I am dancing to represent and offer confidence to anyone, with a disability or not, that struggles to believe in themselves or the opportunities they could take.”
More celebrities are set to be announced in the next few days, with the full line-up expected to be unveiled as early as next week.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One and BBC iPlayer this Autumn.
