Bruce Willis’ Die Hard co-star and Porky’s actor dies aged 64 after heart attack

Actor Tony Ganios has sadly died at the age of 64, his fiancée Amanda has confirmed.

The star was famed for starring in the 1981 sex comedy Porky’s and its sequels, where he played Anthony ‘Meat’ Tuperello. He also appeared as a mercenary in Die Hard 2 (1990).

His character in Die Hard 2 murders a church caretaker and is is ultimately killed by Bruce Willis, who plays hero cop John McClane, in the franchise. Bruce stabs him in the eye with an icicle in the movie.

It’s believed Tony died on Sunday (February 18) at a hospital in New York after suffering a heart attack. According to TMZ, he was suffering a severe spinal cord infection and suffered a heart attack after being taken in for surgery.

Confirming her husband’s passing on social media, Amanda wrote on X: “The last words we said to each other were “I love you.” Love is an understatement.

“You are everything to me. My heart, my soul and my best friend. #I love you #tonyganios.”

A devastated fan replied: “Please god tell me this isn’t true. I was going to meet him in two weeks. Finally gonna meet him after all these years. Just awful news. My heart and prayers are with you Amanda.”

She responded: “Thank you, Marc. It’s just unreal to me right now. It was so fast. He hadn’t felt well and hid it from me for days.

“When he finally told me, and was taken to the hospital, his spinal cord was severely infected. They did surgery, next morning, his heart stopped. I’m crushed.”

The grieving partner added: “It’s not real to me. I’m just empty,” she told another fan on the platform. She told TMZ she was “absolutely shattered” by Tony’s passing.

Tony’s screen debut came in The Wanderers, where he played tough guy Perry. His last performance came in the 1993 film Rising Sun, where he appeared with James Bond legend Sean Connery.
