Love Island All Stars winner Tom Clare plans to return to old job despite £50k prize

Love Island All Star winner Tom Clare has revealed he plans to return to his job as a footballer “if they will have me back”.

The 24-year-old was crowned the first ever All Stars winner alongside Molly Smith on Monday night (February 19). And since their victory, the pair have already given insight into what they plan to do next.

Surprisingly, despite winning a cash prize of £50,000 to share with his partner Molly, Tom still plans on playing for his footy team Macclesfield F.C. Talking to ITV,Tom said: “I am moving back up North to be closer to my family, get back to football and hopefully back to Macclesfield F.C, if they will have me back.”

Molly, who hails from Manchester, is excited for their new beginnings up North. She said: “Tom is coming to Manchester. I can’t wait to go on normal dates and get back to reality.”

Tom entered the South African villa of love as a bombshell during the spin-off show. Molly also came in as a bombshell during the first week but was left gobsmacked when she discovered her ex, Callum Jones had decided to take part in the programme too.

During the final, Tom and Molly were up against Callum and Jess Gale who ended up taking second place. Sharing what her biggest challenge was while in the villa, Molly admitted that living with her ex Callum, who she had split with six months prior was the most difficult.

She confessed: “Probably walking in and seeing the back of my ex’s head and living with him 24/7. At first it was weird and awkward but then towards the end, it was fine. We actually get on really well and Tom gets on with him which is great.”

Tom said: “In hindsight, I probably shouldn’t get on with him but me and Cal do get on. I think he’s a good lad.

“Do you know what I think it makes Mol more attractive that she can get on with Callum. I think the biggest challenge for me was not having contact with my family as I really miss them and can’t wait to see them when I get back home.”

Voting figures for Monday night’s final have now been relased. It show that Molly & Tom won with 35 per cent of the vote but Jess & Callum were only two per cent behind.
