Sunday Brunch descended into chaos during the latest episode of the morning show as hosts Simon Rimmer and Tim Lovejoy asked comedian Lucy Beaumont about her Christmas.
The 40-year-old stand-up comic appeared on Sunday’s (January 7) instalment of the Channel 4 series to promote her latest tour but the presenters first asked her about how she spent the festive period with her family.
Lucy shared that she spent Christmas at the Lake District but admitted that she’ll have to “pull out the stops next year” as her seven-year-old daughter is “not convinced he’s real anymore”. A visibly flustered Tim and Simon were keen to move on from the conversation because “they were live” and “there could be children watching at home.”

A confused Lucy was left asking the hosts Iis there anyway I can come back from that?” but the hosts replied saying they’ll “move on quickly” and went on to talk about her New Year’s Eve plans, where she went out with pals.
Elsewhere in the show, conversation turned to guest and BBC Radio 1 presenter Melvin Odoom, who revealed he was voted out first from the main Strictly show back in 2016 but went on to win the Christmas special of the BBC dance competition in the same year.
Referring to the Strictly Christmas special, Simon, who took part in Strictly in 2017, said: “I’ve never been asked to do it. Awkward” before moving on to speak to guest Candice Brown, who was cooking up a storm in the kitchen.
It comes after Simon said he still gets “angry” over the Waltz routine he messed up on Strictly back in 2017 when he performed with professional dancer Karen Hauer. They made it to week five of the competition but Simon is still frustrated about his error.
He spilled at the time: “I had one dance that I messed up and, to this day, it still makes me angry six years since I did it. Every now and again I genuinely get angry with myself, and for Karen, for messing it up.” The chef was seemingly referring to his Waltz routine, which Karen once said gave her “nightmares”.

Despite the mishap, Simon said the “incredible” show was out of his comfort zone but, “one of the most positive experiences of my life”. He added on James Golding’s Always In Season podcast: “Every single person wants you to succeed. There’s no agenda, where they go, ‘He’s a bit rubbish so lets show him up a bit’. The pro dancers are amazing, you would die for your pro dancer.”
