Coronation Street resident Tracy McDonald (Kate Ford) hires former footballer Tommy Orpington (Matt Milburn) to decorate her house in upcoming scenes as the pair grow close.
Tracy unwraps her birthday present from hubby Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson)next week and is underwhelmed to discover a cherry stone pillow. Chucking it back at him, Tracy tells Steve she wants their bedroom redecorating and he can start today.
When Tracy moans to Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) about “lazy” Steve and how she doubts he’ll ever get round to the decorating, Mary suggests she should hire a professional. Tracy shows Tommy, the decorator, into No.1 where he reveals that he’s a retired footballer.

Steve returns home and is stunned to find his hero in the living room. Tracy reminds Steve that they’ve hired Tommy to do the decorating and he’s not to distract him. As Tommy spends more time with Tracy, will they embark on a steamy affair?
Over Christmas, florist Tracy and Tommy crossed passed. She was not impressed when she has to cook Christmas dinner for 10 people. Things later turned awkward when friction is caused between her and Steve by a joke about age-gaps in a relationship.
She popped over the flower shop to find a bottle of wine but ended up serving former football star Tommy, who as in the shop at the time looking for a last minute gift for his mother.
Tracy is no stranger to cheating but could a new affair be on the cards for her and the the returning character? And to add more suspicion, Steve has recently confided in friend Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) about how their daughter Amy McDonald’s (Elle Mulvaney) difficult year has affected his marriage with Tracy.
Before his cameo over the festive period, Tommy was last seen on the soap in 2021. He was first introduced in 2016 after hiring Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) as a wedding planner. He then befriended Steve and Tim.

Fans also reckon Tracy and Tommy will be starting a new affair on the soap following their interaction over Christmas. On a Digital Spy forum, one person said: “Who do you think his new Lover will be?”, as another immediately responded with: “It’ll be Tracy.” Other soap fans jumped in and agreed: “I like her and Steve together, but no doubt they can’t have a marriage last long, so that’ll need to be ruined.”
Someone else echoed: “It’s definitely gonna be Tracy. Not that it’ll make a blind bit of difference as Steve will just take her back anyway. Rinse and repeat.” Another social media user added: “As soon as I opened this thread, I thought it could be Tracy after the spoiler pic yesterday and am glad that others seem to think the same otherwise Corrie surely wouldn’t release a spoiler pic like that if it was just Tracy ordinarily selling Tommy flowers on Xmas Day.”
