Coronation Street favourite Paul’s end-of-life plan exposed as Billy left panicking

Coronation Street favourite Paul Foreman’s tragic end of life plan to be exposed as Billy Mayhew is left panicking over their future.

Over the past 12 months, ITV fans have been following the star’s emotional decline from his terminal illness, motor neuron disease. The hunk has slowly lost the ability of his legs as his condition detonates, with Paul (played by Peter Ash) now starting to lose the ability to speak.

But it hasn’t been all doom and gloom for Paul, who finally tied the knot with his new husband Billy Mayhew back in October. As his condition continues to decline, the pair have enlisted the help of a profession carer named Moses as he enters the final years of his life.

Recently, fans have seen Paul battle with the idea of ending his life before he loses all of his independence. So far, the hunk has received the support from his husband Billy while their close friend Todd Grimshaw struggled to come to terms with their plan.

And things are only going to get even more tense for the couple when Paul’s mum Bernie accidentally stumbles upon their plan in upcoming episodes. At the start of the week, the mum-of-two calls at the flower shop flat and orders Moses to enjoy some time off while she looks after Paul.

Bernie sets about cleaning the flat for Paul but when she opens the cupboard concealing his stash of Benzo tablets, Paul pales. Later on in the week, Bernie is thrilled when Gemma and Paul reluctantly agree to a night in the dilapidated motorhome.

Paul and Gemma suspect Bernie is lost as she stops in a layby and pulls out a road atlas and shares worried looks between them as they discover there’s no phone signal. Billy tries in vain to call Paul, worried where he may have got to.

Bernie stops the motorhome in the middle of a field and admits she’s no idea how to get to the campsite. Things quickly go from bad to worse when she restarts the engine only to find that they’re stuck in the mud.

Alone in the flat and unable to get hold of Paul, Billy looks into the kitchen cupboard and is horrified to discover the Benzo tablets have gone missing. Paul’s phone finally leaps to life and Gemma answers to hear Billy begging Paul not to take the drugs because it’s too soon.

But will Paul come clean to Bernie and Gemma about his end-of-life plan? At the end of the week, Bernie calls at the flower shop flat to find Billy prostrate on the sofa after putting his back out helping Paul out of the bath due to Moses running late.
