Eamonn Holmes was reportedly left “angry and baffled” when wife Ruth Langsford went public with news of their break up.
The TV favourites had been together for more than 20 years, starting dating in the late 90s and tying the knot in 2010. But earlier this month a spokesperson said they had confirmed their marriage was over and that they were “in the process of divorcing”.
However, it has now been claimed that GB News star Eamonn was a bit taken aback about the announcement, with a source telling the Mail: “Eamonn was left blindsided, it was awful for him.”

“He literally found out about it a very short time before it was published – you’re talking hours. It all seems a little bizarre given that the statement said they were hoping to keep it amicable.”
The insider said Eamonn “wanted no part of it”, adding: “He couldn’t see any reason why you would release that statement. It was wholly written and signed off by Ruth and her team.”
Eamonn and Ruth – who are both 64 and share a son named Jack – used to host ITV’s This Morning together and had been seen as one of the showbiz world’s most solid couples. They regularly shared little titbits about life with each other during TV appearances, with Ruth often mentioning Eamonn when she was on the Loose Women panel.
So fans were shocked when they confirmed that they had called time on their relationship after 14 years of marriage. Many people posted messages on X saying they were “gutted” and “devastated” by the news.
Earlier this week, Eamonn addressed his split from Ruth as he presented on GB News. The TV star took a quick minute in between segments to say thank you to fans for their kind words after the divorce news broke.
“I would just like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation and your support for both of us is very much appreciated,” said the star.
Daily Star has contacted representatives for Eamonn and Ruth for comment.
