Eamonn Holmes poses with rarely seen daughter amid devastating split from Ruth Langsford

Amid his high-profile split from Ruth Langsford, Eamonn Holmes has been spending some quality time with his rarely seen daughter, Rebecca.

On Saturdays (June 8), the GB News star hopped on Instagram to share a cosy car selfie with his only daughter. The Irish presenter shares three children, Declan, Rebecca and Niall, with his ex-wife Gabrielle.

Eamonn went on to become a father for a fourth time with Ruth Langsford when they welcomed their son Jack in 2002, reports the Mirror. The doting dad, 64, captioned the sweet snap with his daughter: “Lots of folk posting about their daughters.

“Not many girls in The Holmes family but I have one who I love and adore xxx.” The television stalwart and the Loose Women panelist announce their split last month in a joint statement.

It read: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.” But it wasn’t long ago that Eamonn was in the media spotlight regarding his friendship with another woman – someone he’d been mingling with unbeknownst to Ruth.

According to inside sources, this revelation shattered Ruth. Allegedly, the presenter has partaken in numerous day-outs with this female companion while Ruth remained oblivious to these escapades.

It seems that this factor played a key part in the pair’s decision to dissolve their 14-year marriage. It seems Ruth was dealt another blow by having to dismiss claims that she ended their relationship due to Eamonn’s deteriorating health condition.

Telly fave Ruth Langsford, also 64, is reportedly taking a breather from her Loose Women duties until the end of June to focus on her emotional wellbeing. She’s been off-air since May and plans to make a triumphant return to the ITV panel show next month.

It comes after a close pal to Ruth told the Mirror: “Ruth was hurt when she learned about Eamonn’s friendship with another woman. But she is strong and she will be back soon with a smile on her face, putting her best foot forward, as she always does.

“She needs a bit of time to regroup after everything that’s gone on, which is understandable, but she plans to return to Loose Women, with renewed vigour, in July.” They went on to shut down the chance of a possible reunion between the too, insisting: “No chance whatsoever.”

Ruth was reportedly seething after discovering Eamonn had been cosying up to a woman in her forties, whom he befriended two years ago. He’s apparently treated her to jaunts including a safari park visit in February, a Manchester United match, and a Beyonce concert.

The broadcaster, who’s had his fair share of health woes with a double hip replacement in 2015 and spinal surgery in 2022, is believed to have got pretty chummy with the mystery lady over the last year. Their bond reportedly grew after they connected through social media due to a mutual involvement with a mental health charity.

The woman is thought to volunteer for a charity that Eamonn became associated with following the tragic passing of Ruth’s sister, Julia Johnson, who battled depression. When Eamonn underwent back surgery, Ruth was there to care for him during his recovery, and she did the same when he had a fall at their Surrey residence.
