EastEnders’ Billy heartbroken, Mitchell exit confirmed and Reiss’ lie exposed

EastEnders is set to air disturbing news for more than one character in upcoming episodes and one Mitchell decides to leave Walford.

The week kicks off in Walford with Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) throwing a party for his dad Stevie (Alan Ford) in The Queen Vic. As the Mitchell begin to gather for the celebration, Billy explains to his son Will that Stevie and his long-lost mother, Val, share the same birthday.

However, he admits that he has no clue about his mother’s whereabouts. Over in the café, Teddy (Roland Manookian) confronts Stevie and sternly warns him to stop lying. After overhearing them discussing a secret they’re keeping from Billy, Phil (Steve McFadden) becomes curious and enlists the help of his trusted lawyer Ritchie (Sian Webber) to investigate.

Later at The Vic, Stevie is thrilled by the efforts Billy and Will (Freddie Phillips) have made for the party, prompting Billy to deliver a heartfelt speech about his father and send well wishes to his mother, wherever she may be.

However, Phil soon arrives and takes Stevie aside to present the evidence that Ritchie has unearthed about him, which is far from positive.

Upon returning to No. 18, Stevie admits to Billy that his mother is no longer alive, with Teddy witnessing the confession.

Stevie recounts the heartbreaking tale of Val’s demise to his stunned sons, Billy and Teddy, before making a significant decision.

This revelation sends shockwaves through Billy, who, feeling like a shattered man, confides in his cousin Phil, who advises him to understand who Stevie truly is.

Later on, Teddy encourages Billy not to let this disclosure ruin their relationship. But is this the end of Billy and Stevie’s father-son relationship?

As the week continues, there’s more news for Billy as Stevie decides to leave Walford. Billy is feeling a broken man he confides in his cousin Phil who tells him to wise up to who Stevie really is.

But during a chat, Will misunderstands what Billy is saying and soon reveals that Phil framed Stevie. Billy rages at Phil for trying to wreck his new family.

Stevie implores Billy and Teddy to hear him out and apologises for everything he’s done before planning to leave Walford. Following one more confrontation with his nephew Phil, Stevie asks Big Mo to do him a favour.

Phil is furious to discover his car is missing and calls the police as Stevie asks Billy if he can say goodbye to his grandchildren. Later, Billy and Teddy arrange a family dinner at Walford East but don’t invite Phil until Jay (Jamie Borthwick) asks him to join them.

Teddy tries to smooth things over between the family as Phil takes a seat but a showdown between the men soon ensues. Phil continues to drive a wedge between himself and everyone close to him.

Meanwhile, across the Square Reiss Colwell’s money troubles escalate as he gets a medical bill through for Debbie.

During Tuesday trip to Walford (July 9), Reiss’ stress levels are sky high as he looks at an £18,000 bill for his wife’s care fees. Debbie Colwell has been in a care home for some time after suffering a major stroke and remains in a coma.

Reiss (Jonny Freeman) has emptied Debbie’s savings to pay for his girlfriend Sonia Fowler’s (Natalie Cassidy) IVF treatment as they long to start a family together, meaning there’s no cash to fund Debbie’s care.

But as nervous Sonia heads in for her embryo transfer, Reiss takes a call saying Debbie’s care fees are three months overdue.
