GMB’s Kate Garraway forced to issue apology on The Wheel after obvious question blunder

Kate Garraway was forced to issue an apology ton one unlucky guest after she incorrectly answered a “horrifying” question during her latest TV appearance.

On Saturday (March 16), the Good Morning Britain presenter joined many of the celebrities taking part on BBC Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel. The stand up comic hosted the nail-biting game show as three contestants put their general knowledge to the test with the help of the star-studded cast.

The hopeful players are guided by seven celebrity experts and their chosen specialist subjects. Also joining Kate on the show with their impressive specialist subjects was Katherine Ryan on parenting, Asim Chaudhry on hip-hop, Vanessa Feltz on books and Steve Pemberton on horror.

He told viewers he would like to help his eldest daughter get married, which they had put on hold due to “finances”. He added: “She really deserves a nice wedding”.

When the game got under way, the wheel soon landed on the broadcaster who had to help Bob answer a question about parenting. Michael asked: “What age do the majority of children own a mobile phone?”

The pair were given four choices: seven, nine, 11 and 13. Kate, who lost her husband Derek Draper back in January, said: “It’s a tricky one, isn’t it? We held out until 13 but I bet they don’t anymore.”

When they were pushed for an answer, Kate suggested it could be either nine or 11 as Bob agreed to lock in an answer of nine. But surprisingly enough, the answer was seven leaving many celebs in shock.

Michael questioned: “Seven years old? Unbelievable” as Kate fumed: “I’m sorry Bob.” Thankfully the slip up didn’t halt Bob from soaring to success after he won £82,000 on the show.

The brainiac has certainly earned enough to pay for his daughter’s wedding as he recoiled in shock. It comes after announced another new documentary is set to hit the airwaves later this year following the loss of her husband.

With close access to Derek and his wife, Kate, the film provides an insight into his personal struggles with illness. It also highlights the challenges faced by millions of people in the UK living with serious illness and disability and those who care for them.

Derek’s Story also reflects on his life before Covid, including his high-profile political career, his relationship with Kate and their early years together. It will also look at how Derek’s illness changed the nature of their dynamic while they maintained their close bond.

Kate Garraway: Derek’s Story will air on ITV1 and ITVX later this month
