Kacey Musgraves has admitted that she suffered a horrific wardrobe malfunction during her appearance on Saturday Night Live.
The singer-songwriter, 35, was appearing to perform on the latest episode of the long-running American comedy show on Saturday (March 2). In the episode, she was also chatting to the show’s host for the week – Madame Webb star Sydney Sweeney.
However, despite having what looked to be a relatively normal appearance on the show, Kacey took to social media to let her fans know she was horrified when watching the show back. She added that she had a fashion faux pas that was not picked up on until well after she was first seen on the programme.

Country singer Kacey uploaded a photo of herself during the show’s closing credits, alongside Sweeney, who has also appeared in the likes of The Handmaid’s Tale and Euphoria. In the screenshot, Musgraves stunned viewers as she took on a gorgeous maxi dress made out of denim.
She accessorised the look with a pair of knee-high boots and a cute white hair clip to help pin back her hair. However, in the post that she uploaded to Twitter, she admitted that clip was an unintended part of the outfit.
“The clip, I forgot to remove the clip,” she exclaimed in her post, showing that she was mortified with her total ensemble. As it later turned out, the star’s stylist had seemingly forgotten to take the clip out of the Grammy winner’s hair as she rushed on stage after being called out by host Sydney and guest star Glen Powell.
It was only when Kacey had gone to hug the acting starlet when she realised that the clip was still on her hair. As she tried to stay calm amidst the minor wardrobe malfunction, she left the clip in her hair until the cameras stopped rolling.
And it was clear that fans did not mind the minor mishap as many flocked to reassure her the look was great. One fan told Musgraves that she had nothing to worry about: “Girl, I thought it was purposeful, just roll with it!”
A second user added: “Aww I thought it was purpose lol; well, you looked (and sounded) fabulous either way!” Whilst a third account simply put: “It looks good on you girl.”
On the show, the country star sang two of her newest and biggest hits, Deeper Well and Too Good to be True. It comes as she prepares to release her new album – also called Deeper Well – on March 15, in what is said to be a “new era” for her musically.
