Fans of Love Island have begged for one the show’s “messy” girls to stay in the villa.
The current series of the ITV2 dating titan only began on Monday (June 3), but already the heat has already been turned up. The Islanders have already seen bombshells and departures, including TOWIE legend Joey Essex.
But now, things are getting serious as there have been growing calls to get rid of Harriett Blackmore, as she continues to stir the pot in the villa. Harriett, who is currently coupled up with Ciaran Davies, has already been spotted causing drama and conflict as she rubs her fellow Islanders the wrong way.

As well as this, Blackmore was the victim of an awkward exposé by former Islander Andrew le Page. The former real estate agent called Harriett out when she said that her last relationship was four months before she went into the villa, with Andrew saying “the application process is longer than that”.
Things reached boiling point in Wednesday night’s show, however, when Ciaran ditched Harriett in order to take Nicole into the Hideaway. In tense scenes, Blackmore was seen sobbing as she admitted she had been hurt by the move.
Fans have been divided on Harriett since she walked into the villa, as she makes no secret of how she feels with her fellow contestants. But one fan has pleaded with producers not to give her the boot from the show just yet.
Taking to the show’s Reddit community, the fan branded calls to kick Harriett from the villa as “beyond absurd and ridiculous”. They pointed out that Harriett’s behaviour had been that of a double standard, but it was needed to make the show juicier for the public to watch.
“Was Harriett being petty and hypocritical when she was crying about Nicole but then pulled Joey to the hideaway? Yes and that is exactly why she has to stay in,” the account said.
“Someone like that creates conflict in the villa and rivalries which recent seasons have missed (especially seasons 6-10),” they continued. The fan also pointed to former contestant Naomi in the show’s first season who had similar behaviour but became one of the most well-loved Islanders.
Finishing off their point, the account said: “If Harriett stays in she will be in feuds and possibly contribute to making this season one of the best of all time.” Many other fans agreed with the statement, saying that Harriett’s personality is what makes her likeable.
“I really like that Harriet is being so open with her crazy,” one user said in response to the post. “She told everyone why she was hurt and what she was going to do and then did it – it was petty but it was exactly how she said she was going to move.”
A second account added that they liked Harriett, and hoped she stayed in, pointing towards other iconic Islanders that were in similar situations. “People can be hypocrites on here a lot, but this is also usually how the entertaining islanders are received initially; people like Ekin-Su and Maura were widely disliked at first,” they said.
Love Island airs every Sunday to Friday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
