Naga Munchetty forced to apologise as Charlie Stayt pulls her up on BBC Breakfast gaffe

BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty was left a tad embarrassed after a cheeky on-air gaffe when she fluffed.

The blooper happened on Saturday morning (June 8), leaving Naga to have a bit of a giggle about it. Wrapping up the weather update, Naga turned to the audience and blurted out: “20 minutes past time.”

She quickly caught onto her slip-up, shut her eyes tight, and burst into laughter. She then spun around to her co-host Charlie Stayt and joked: “Do you hear what I just said?”

To which Charlie quipped back: “Well, it is 20 minutes past time in a way, isn’t it? It’s a little imprecise though.”

Naga shook off the mistake with a chuckle and corrected herself: “Shall I start again? Twenty minutes past eight is the time.”

And with that, they were off to the next piece about microchipping cats, reports the Express.

But it wasn’t Naga’s only on-screen hiccup that week. On Thursday’s BBC Breakfast, while flying solo in the studio as Charlie reported from Ver-Sur-Mer in Normandy, another blunder struck.

Just as Charlie was gearing up to talk about D-Day commemorations, Naga’s mic was accidentally left on, leading to her being overheard muttering: “Is this the last one?”

Charlie, ever the pro, glossed over the technical snafu and carried on with his report. The Beeb stayed mum on what caused the mishap, but some sharp viewers didn’t miss a beat.

One viewer teased on Twitter: “Enjoyed the mystery voice competition this morning. Any guesses? #BBCBreakfast.”

Another chimed in with a chuckle: “Naga moaning? Lol #BBCBreakfast.”
