Naked and Afraid contestants have been forced to chew elephant dung.
In a new episode of Naked and Afraid: Last Man Standing, contestants are subjected to sieving through elephant poop as they search piles of faeces in an attempt to snack on undigested seeds. TMZ has published a “first-look exclusive clip,” which shows the survivalists gagging at the smell.
While competing to win $100,000 prize after a stint in the African brush, the stars are seen “sifting through hardened elephant dung and chewing the seeds out without rinsing”. They all begin to gag and heave as they extract the seeds from the poop.

In the video, the voiceover explains: “Competitors are in phase one of the bird trap challenge. They must collect bait for their traps by collecting Mopane seeds inside elephant dung.”
One of the stars boasts that finding the poop first has put them in first place while Fernando said that the dung smelled “nasty”. “That’s our ticket, that’s our goal: to get past this challenge,” he explains.
The contestants had to “sift ferociously through the elephant dung” before “moving on to build their traps”. Gary then addressed the camera and said: “So, the strategy: They’re going to assemble the frame while I’m chewing Mopane seeds from elephant dung.”
The narrator then explains that the “seeds need to be crushed” and “small enough to be applied as bird food” directly onto the trap. The entire group continues munching on the poop as one person hacks next to a tree, making a disgusting noise while spitting the seeds back out.
While completely naked, the contestants separated the dung from the seeds in their hands. For one final confessional, Fernando said: “Chewing the Mopane seeds, it is way way faster. I know we have to win and every second matters.”
The stars are all working against each other to win a massive ostrich egg for their evening meal. The cringe-worthy Naked and Afraid episode airs 21 July at 8pm ET/PT on Discovery Channel.
