Pete Wicks has broken his silence after Maura Higgins confirmed that she is in a relationship with the Strictly Come Dancing star after they fell for each other in the I’m A Celeb jungle
Pete Wicks has finally broken his silence after Maura Higgins appeared to confirm her romance with a Strictly star. On their Staying Relevant podcast, Pete welcomed back co-host and close friend Sam Thompson, who had been away presenting I’m A Celebrity: Unpacked with Joel Dommett.
Sam declared his “loyalty to Pete beats everything”, despite not initially planning to discuss Maura’s relationship with Pete after she was voted off the show. Pete responded: “It does until the leaving interview, and you say ‘welcome to the family’, so I guess that one just sort of slipped out did it?”
Accusing Sam of letting things “slip”, Pete’s comments came after Maura caught the public’s eye by expressing her feelings for the former TOWIE star to her fellow campmates in the Jungle.

After being voted out, she elaborated on her new romance while speaking to Alison Hammond on ITV’s This Morning. She confessed: “You do forget about the cameras, and I do like to keep things private, but let’s be real, I said it. I can’t remember saying it, but I said the words, ‘I miss him’.”

She continued: “I do miss him, like I missed all my friends and family. Honestly, he’s been so supportive, honestly. I didn’t know if he was still in Strictly and I’m so proud of him, he’s proud of me, and I can’t wait to see him when I get back.”
Maura recently opened up about her feelings, saying: “If you’re missing someone, you’re missing someone and it comes out. And I do, I miss him. Yeah, I really do miss him,” on I’m A Celeb’s ‘Coming Out’ show last weekend (Friday December 13). She also asked her friend Talia if Pete was still competing in Strictly, reports Lancs Live.
Now back in the UK after her time in Australia, Maura has been reunited with Pete and even posted a photo of the two of them with friends at the ME hotel in London.
