Robert Pattinson had real orgasm in sex scene because faking it ‘didn’t work’

Robert Pattinson never shies away from a challenge when it comes to his acting jobs – even if it involves pleasuring himself on camera.

The 37-year-old actor shot to fame in the Twilight saga and has since gone on to establish himself as one of the most talented men in Hollywood. But before he got the Twilight job, he masturbated on camera and feared it would ruin his career forever.

Robert starred as the young artist Salvador Dali in the 2008 film Little Ashes, and it required him to get naked a lot of the time. But his biggest challenge came while filming a sex scene for the flick.

In order for the steamy scene to work, Robert’s character needed to look like he was genuinely – how shall we put it – enjoying himself. Ever the professional, Pattinson decided the only way to show this was for him was to actually masturbate rather than faking it.

So he decided to ‘rub one out’, and he was so frightened it would ruin his career that he reckoned his future in acting was over. Luckily, as we know, it was only just beginning.

Speaking about the sex scene in 2013, Robert told Germany’s Interview magazine: “If you google something long enough you will soon know everything there is to know about me: what I eat, what my poop looks like, with whom I’m sleeping, what my d**k looks like, even what I look like when I masturbate…”

He said faking an orgasm didn’t work

He went on: “Well, that might be a little exaggerated. But my h***-job face is recorded for eternity.” Asked if he could fake the orgasm, Robert said: “Try it. I can tell you right now, no chance. It just doesn’t work. So I rubbed one out in front of the camera.”

Robert played Spanish artist Salvador Dali in the film

Asked if he hoped nobody would watch the flick, he admitted: “Something like that, yes. After the end of the shooting I thought for a couple of days that this would be the end of my – at the time really short – acting career.

“But then I got the phone call that said ‘You got the role.’ And then Twilight started.”
