Strictly winner Stacey Dooley trades ballroom for boudoir in new sex documentary

Strictly Come Dancing winner Stacey Dooley is getting back into investigative journalism with a new series of shows covering controversial subjects.

The journalist, 37, is best known for her hard-hitting documentaries on the likes of alcohol, religion, war, and terrorism. However, she is also known for waltzing her way to winning the BBC’s glitterball trophy with professional partner Kevin Clifton, 41.

Since then, Kevin and Stacey have been loved-up ever since and have welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Minnie, into the world with him. But now, Dooley is set to trade her cosy life in for one more seductive as she speaks to sex workers in a new documentary.

As part of the documentary series Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over USA, the reporter travels Stateside to learn about how sex workers are treated in America, and beds down with for the evening with workers earning their keep in a brothel in the Nevada desert, near the city of Reno.

In the upcoming episode, Stacey overhears a number of sex workers in the middle of the night getting on with their work. Staying at the Mustang Ranch not far from the city, Stacey chats to the employees of the brothel, the first legal brothel in the state which was first opened in the 1970s by businessman Lance Gilman.

Sharing an image of the outside of the brothel to her Instagram page, she blew fans away with her investigation skills as she penned in the caption: “YOU’RE WELCOME!” As well as this, Dooley said she was excited for viewers to see what she got up to, saying it was a fantastic experience.

The Sun newspaper also gave some hints as to what Dooley would be getting up to on the show, which airs on Sunday (March 17) at 9pm on the W Channel. Stacey is said to be tasked with sleeping in a room with two sex workers, with her cheekily quipping that she “should’ve brought some earplugs” when the workers get down to business.

“You could hear everything!” she exclaimed afterwards. “Missy was right next door and she was such a sweetheart; she had one night where she had one after the other, and I was like, ‘Oh my god, this girl must be absolutely exhausted.”

Fans of the documentarian have already geared themselves up for the newest instalment of the series, with many penning they “can’t wait” for the new show. Stacey is also set to have a number of other topics she wants to tackle that will be revealed during the series, as well as showing off the local culture including horse riding.

Taking to the caption, she continued writing about the video: “I’m SO excited for you to see the families we found this series. One of my fave fave gigs is Sleepover. Hope you enjoy!”
