Strictly star Nick Knowles has revealed his fiancée Katie Dadzie questioned whether to stay with him after being hit with “horrible racist abuse”.
The DIY SOS presenter has been with to Katie since 2021 and they are set to tie the knot. But he has shared that she’s had to face “properly vile” comments, and that when they are snapped together she is targeted by trolls who dish out abuse and accuse her of being a gold-digger, despite the fact she’s a successful businesswoman in her own right.
“It’s really unpleasant and unfair,” he told The Times. “Katie’s a mum of two, she’s super intelligent, capable, within just eight months her lingerie brand was stocked by Next.

“But you just get people being properly vile. So you understand when she goes, ‘I don’t know if I want to be around this’.”
“In the end, we love each other very much,” he told the publication, explaining that you “can’t let previous difficulties stop you falling in love, because you close yourself off to the possibility of being happy”.
Nick, 62, has been married twice before – to Gillian Knowles from 1996 to 2000 and then to Jessica Rose Moor from 2012 to 2017. He has four children from former relationships – daughter Tuesday and sons Charlie, Tyrian-J and Eddie.
The TV star is said to have got together with Katie – who is 27 years his junior – after their children befriended each other at a play centre. They ended up falling for each other and Nick got down on one knee and popped the question last year during a trip to the US.
He previously shared that he actually proposed with a Haribo ring as he hadn’t had the chance to get a real one when the perfect moment presented itself. Katie shared images of the romantic proposal on Instagram at the time, captioning the sweet shots: “So last minute something special happened in New Orleans.”
This summer, the TV star shared that he and Katie had yet to set a date for their nuptials, because they were both so busy that it was hard to settle on the day.
“Finding the date is becoming difficult,” he said during an interview on ITV’s This Morning. He teased: “We are sort of getting to the point now where we are like, ‘Do you know what? We just might disappear (and tie the knot)’.”
