Netflix fans can’t stand one of the streamer’s top charted films.
Tarot was recently added to the streaming platform after it hit cinemas back in May, but viewers are far from impressed with the horror flick. However, this hasn’t stopped the film reaching the number three spot in the Netflix UK charts.
Over on X/Twitter, streamers flocked to tweet what they thought about the horror movie, which some even savagely branded “terrible”. One furious viewer wrote: “…saw that the movie Tarot is on Netflix and brooo, no-one’s dead yet and this s*** is p***ing me off already. Eyes twitching and everything.”

A second film fan added: “Pretty sure this is just Gen Z’s version of Final Destination,” as a third person typed: “Watching Tarot and 3 minutes in, this is terrible. Do horror movie fans just have low standards or something because this is one of the like number one horrors on Netflix.”
Someone even admitted they’d had “a few drinks” and the film still “ain’t hitting,” while another disappointed horror fan simply wrote: “This Tarot movie on Netflix is sooo bad.” One tweet even read: “The Tarot horror movie on Netflix should be listed as a comedy [because] what the f***m am I watching.”
The 2024 movie stars Avantika Vandanapu, Jacob Batalon, Larsen Thompson, Harriet Slater, Humberly Gonzalez and Wolfgang Novogratz. The IMDb description reads: “When a group of friends recklessly violates the sacred rule of Tarot readings, they unknowingly unleash an unspeakable evil trapped within the cursed cards. One by one, they come face to face with fate and end up in a race against death.”
Tarot wasn’t the box office smash hit producers expected it to be as critics and viewers alike gave the film an overall low review. On Rotten Tomatoes, Tarot was given a measly 19.
Reviewer Anna Bogutskaya from Empire Magazine gave the film a scathing review, awarding it a score of just 2 out of 5. The reporter said Tarot is “a personality-less horror” that “doesn’t overly concern itself with either character or plot”.
