Sian Welby has admitted that quitting drinking is “so much harder than I ever expected”.
The 37-year-old favourite on Capital Radio and occasional This Morning star is preparing to welcome her first baby with her soon-to-be husband, Jake Beckett. The thrilled duo, who got engaged last year, are right now on a sunny holiday in Tenerife, after Roman Kemp left the show.
Sharing a sneak peek of their sun-soaked getaway while it rains back home, seven-months-pregnant Sian shared a funny picture on Instagram. It looks like Jake’s head has been replaced by a large glass of white wine!

She wrote under the photo: “Not drinking on his holiday is so much harder than I expected.” The NHS advises not to drink alcohol when you’re pregnant or trying for a baby, to keep the baby safe.

Drinking can cause long-lasting harm to the baby, and the more alcohol you have, the higher the risk, reports the Mirror. Meanwhile, Sian really surprised her co-stars on the Capital Radio Breakfast show when she said she’s going to have a baby.
She told everyone in February: “I’ve got a bit of an announcement for you! I’m pregnant! I don’t know how I’ve managed to keep it from you for so long.”

She added: “The lies, the deceit, the mocktails! I couldn’t wait to tell you. This is a whole new journey for me and I want to take you all on it with me, and don’t worry I’m not going anywhere!
“This is going to be a lot of fun and I can’t wait to share it with you all,” she said as her co-host Roman Kemp was super happy, telling her: “Oh my god! Oh mate I’m so happy for you and Jake as well!”
Chris Stark was shocked and said, “Is this real? It is the most exciting news ever!”. Sian also told her Instagram fans by posting some cute photos showing her and her fiancé Jake’s adventure so far.

She captioned: “We have some news,” and then, “We’re having a baby.” The radio host told everyone she was getting married last August while showing off her ring in a lovely photo after Jake asked her to marry him on their holiday in Greece.
Sian shared more about her big moment online, saying: “Genuinely didn’t see this coming. For once I am totally speechless. I didn’t think it mattered until he asked me, and then suddenly it meant everything. Love you Jakey x 15.8.23.”
The occasional This Morning star is taking a little break in the summer but she’ll be back on Capital Breakfast with Jordan North and Chris Stark later on.
