The Inbetweeners star Joe Thomas has revealed a hilarious behind-the-scenes secret from one of the show’s most memorable scenes.
The 40-year-old actor, who played schoolboy Simon Cooper on the hit sitcom, admitted he left his testicle hanging out during filming because he was “so broken” by the end of the day. Joe shared this funny story during an episode of Rob Beckett’s Smart TV, where he joined other celebs like Alison Hammond and Josh Widdicombe.
In a clip shared by Metro.co.uk, Joe was asked about the scene where his character struts down a catwalk with his testicle on show. Comedian Rob Beckett, 38, asked him if it was a fake testicle that was on show.

Joe candidly replied: “No it wasn’t. They said, ‘Do you want a prosthetic testicle?’ But I thought, ‘That’s not exactly dignified.’ I mean, the show is what it is. That’s my genuine testicle,” Joe replied.
Hearing his story, Rob couldn’t believe and said in shock: “That’s your nut? That’s your own bollock?”
After Joe went on to confirm it was true, Josh Widdicombe, 40, asked him another cheeky question. He said: “Between shots did you slip it back in or did you just stand there?”
Joe todl the other famous faces why he didn’t bother to “slip it back in” when the cameras were no longer rolling. He continued: “By the end of the day I was so broken that I didn’t really care whether it was out or not. I was like, “It’s out.”
In a recent interview with Metro.co.uk, The Inbetweeners star James Buckley confessed he still finds the show hilarious, especially his character Jay Cartwright’s iconic, cheeky catchphrase. He said: “It might be a bit more cringy or embarrassing than being the actor who’s so bored of a character and acting too cool for school, but I still find it funny,’ he admitted.
Rob Beckett’s Smart TV is a fresh comedy show from the masterminds behind Never Mind the Buzzcocks. It’s all about TV trivia and features a host of celebrity guests.
In this week’s episode, Joe will be joining a bunch of famous faces including Gregg Wallace, Alan Davies and Ruth Madele. Rob and team leads Alison and Josh will also be on hand.
