EXCLUSIVE: Celebrity Big Brother star Chris Hughes starred on ITV’s The Full Monty alongside pal Jake Quickenden – who has shed some light on his bond with JoJo Siwa
Celebrity Big Brother star Chris Hughes has been fascinating the nation with his friendship with JoJo Siwa.
His close pal and former ITV co-star Jake Quickenden has shared his hot take on their bond which he notes is “interesting” to watch, as he collaborated with WhichBingo, the home of Bingo Sites.
Jake starred on ITV’s The Full Monty with Chris Hughes in 2020 and the pair struck up a tight friendship on set. Jake is keen to express his support for his famous pal, who has currently been slammed by some CBB fans forgetting “too close” to JoJo.
Setting the record straight, Jake shared: “He exactly like that with me on The Full Monty. He finds his person, and then he doesn’t let go. He’s a good mate, and I go around his house and he won’t let me sleep in a separate bed because he wants to stay up an chat.
“It’s just a friendship with JoJo, he’s just found somebody that he’s connected with, like Kem [Cetinay] on Love Island, like me, and he’s gone ‘I ain’t letting you out my sight, because I trust you and I can be myself around you’.
Referring to his time on The Full Monty with Chris, Jake laughed: “I couldn’t get a fucking minute. I was like ‘Leave me alone, you weirdo!'”
Jake continued: “He’s very young up there,” as he points to his head, before adding, “But it was the same in love island. Maybe the audience doesn’t pass over to CBB, as maybe it’s a bit of an older audience, where they just don’t understand what he’s like.
“People saying he’s playing the game and got friends with JoJo because she’s a Hollywood star. Whereas, in reality, he didn’t have a f****** clue who she was before the show.
“He doesn’t know who people are from his series of Love Island, let alone her. I’ve been at parties and he’s like, ‘Who’s that?’ I’m like, ‘They were on your series mate’. That is just Chris.
“He is from a farming background, he likes the simple life talking about cricket and horses. He’s not into that whole celebrity stuff, so he wouldn’t even know who she is.”
Jake will be appearing on CBB’s spin off show Late and Live tonight to show his further support for Chris, who has divided fans with his tight-knit bond with the Dance Moms star.
