Coronation Street actress Sacha Parkinson has given birth to a baby girl.
The star, who is known for playing Sian Power in the ITV soap, shared snaps of her new arrival on Instagram. She revealed that she had welcomed her first baby last week and that her name was Sadie.
Sacha, 33, uploaded two adorable black and white images, one of the baby sleeping and another which appeared to show her and her fiance holding the newborn’s hand. “One whole week of Sadie,” she captioned the images, along with a heart and a star emoji.
Many of Sacha’s old co-stars from the cobbles sent their best wishes after she shared her lovely news. “Oooooh wow congratulations,” posted Sally Dynevor. “How wonderful. She’s so beautiful.”
“Aww congratulations to you both!” said Georgia May Foote, as Ellie Leach said Sadie was “soooooo beautiful”. “Congratulations babe, so happy for you and your little family xxx,” posted Lucy-Jo Hudson.
Hollyoaks’ Bronagh Waugh said she was “so thrilled” for the star. “Cutest everything,” chimed in Emmerdale’s Charley Webb.
Emmerdale’s Danny Miller – who recently shared that his wife is expecting their third child – was among those to chime in. “Beautiful mate,” he wrote.
Model Rhian Sugden posted: “Waaaaahhh!! She’s here! Congratulations I can’t wait to hear all about it.”
“Look at her!” exclaimed actress Faye McKeever. “Oh my goodness. So so made up for you, you’re gunna be one hell of a mama.”
Sacha announced her pregnancy in December in a cute Instagram post in which she shared snaps showing her posing in front of a Christmas tree with her bump on show and clutching a tiny onesie. “Merry Christmas Eve, Huns,” she wrote. “I have a feeling next year’s is going to be a wild one.”
Sacha got her big break in Corrie in 2002 when she appeared in one episode of the soap. Then seven years later she returned in a regular role as Sian, who was a love interest for Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent).
She remained on the cobbles until 2011, when her exit was announced. At the time she was quoted as saying that she was “in two minds” over waving goodbye to Weatherfield but that she was also “very excited” about what the future might hold.
The actress went on to appear in programmes such as Casualty, The Mill and My Mad Fat Diary after filming her last scenes in the soap. Then in 2015 she bagged a main role as Connie Hawkins in period drama Mr Selfridge. She also appeared in Cold Feet and in 2023 she starred in psychological thriller series Platform 7.
