Julian McMahon, known for his roles in Fantastic Four, Nip/Tuck and Home and Away, sadly died in 2 July and his cause of death has now been confirmed by his loved ones
Julian McMahon’s caused of death has been confirmed.
The actor, who was known for his roles in Nip/Tuck, Charmed and Fantastic Four, sadly died aged 56 after a “private battle” with cancer on 2 July.
According to a report from the Pinellas County Medical Examiner obtained by People, Julian is said to have died from lung metastasis as a result of head and neck metastatic cancer.
His cause of death has been ruled as natural and it is believed the actor has been cremated. Julian’s illness was not made public before his death.
Julian’s family confirmed the news of his passing from their home in Florida.
His wife Kelly released a statement: “With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer.”
“Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans.
“His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible. We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy.”
In a post shared to Julian’s Instagram page, the family shared a heartfelt message to his fans: “Julian loved Van Morrison… For all of those who loved Julian, thank you,” along with Van’s son Sometimes We Cry.
Julian was the son of former Australian Prime Minister Billy McMahon and began his career as a model in the 80s before turning his sights on Hollywood.
He appeared on Home and Away from 1990 to 1991, Wet and Wild Summer!, Another World and Profiler.
Julian was nominated for a Golden Globe for his role as Dr Christian Troy in Nip/Tuck.
