KEELEY Hawes risked her safety for new drama The Assassin.

The actress plays a hitwoman on the run in the Amazon Prime series and that involved filming the most dangerous action sequence of her career so far.

She said: “This series has the biggest stunt piece I’ve ever done.

“There’s a big scene we shot there where I’m riding a motorcycle and we are being chased.

“We had a lot of fun doing that on the back of a contraption with a bike attached.”

Despite the risks, Keeley insists she loved doing the scenes.

The series also features plenty of funny moments. Keeley is convinced it will be a hit with viewers.

She said: “There’s very little like this on TV. It has something in it for everyone and crosses all genres.

“It’s a thriller that has high stakes drama and action, but there’s a lovely relationship at the heart of the story there’s some stunt-heavy scenes and it’s broken up with brilliant bits of dialogue which adds great humour to the series.

“Those scenes in the show don’t take themselves too seriously, which sets it apart from other more serious action series I’ve worked on, such as Bodyguard and Line of Duty.”
