Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Teddi Mellencamp has taken to Instagram to issue fans with an update on her stage four cancer after doctors found multiple tumours
Reality star Teddi Mellencamp has shared some amazing news with her fans.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has stage four cancer but recently issued an incredible update – her tumours, which are a result of melanoma that metastasized to her brain and lungs, have shrunk so significantly that doctors are hopeful that she is just weeks away from a cancer free diagnosis.
She took to Instagram to say: “I just finished with all of my scans and my tumours have significantly shrunk, which doctors believe means that this all will work and that I will be back to myself and feeling good.”
The reality icon was previously given a fifty-fifty chance of survival. Teddi explained that she now has two sessions of immunotherapy “and then hopefully she will be cancer free”.
Teddi closed her video by saying that she is “keeping a positive outlook”. Throughout her video she smiled and wore her hair in a buzzcut before saying that she’d finished “happy crying”.
Down in the comment section Teddi’s followers and loved ones showered her with praise. Housewives star Kyle Richards wrote: “BEST DAY EVER!! So grateful,” with a red heart emoji.
Tamara Judge said that she was “crying tears of joy” at the incredible news, while Shannon Beador simply wrote: “Amazing!!!”
Teddi’s sister joined in: “Most amazing day ever! We all knew you would kick cancer’s a**!”
Multiple tumours were found in her brain back in February, after which she was quickly admitted for emergency surgery. Tumours were also found on her lungs.
She has previously revealed that she was “preparing her children for the worst” and that her husband was planning her funeral.
The night before she posted her cancer update, Teddi admitted that she was “sad and scared” ahead of the MRI scan that would expose whether the treatment had been successful.
Teddi has previously shared the symptoms that she experienced before her diagnosis. She informed her fans that she suffered excruciating headaches until one day, disaster struck.
“I couldn’t see, I mean, I could barely get down the stairs.”
She was rushed to the hospital where the tumours were discovered: “That’s when they said I had four plumb-size tumours in my brain and then within the next day I was in surgery.”
“My first real memory was looking up and my entire family was there. My dad, my sister, my brothers, all of my best friends and I’m being like: ‘Hold on, why are y’all here? And chatting? This must be bad.”
