The comedian is wary of going to football match after an now-infamous picture of him holding a beer can and looking pied-eyed at Euro 2021
Rob Beckett has had to cut back on going to football matches because fans keep trying to get him drunk. Since he was seen partying during the Euros in 2021, people are desperate to down booze with him.
The comedian, 39, told the Daily Star: “I don’t go to football as much as I used to. It is harder to do now. After the time I got drunk at the Euros in 2021, people want me to get absolutely battered.
“They want to get me absolutely s***faced. Every time I hold a pint, they chant down it. And I will give into peer pressure.
“It starts to get out of hand and I can’t do that every week. It’s good fun, but not every week.”
The comic chronicled his boozy night at the Euros in 2021, where he ate KFC in the street and shouted “come on England” out of a taxi window with a megaphone.
The star, who narrates Celebs Go Dating, said: “People come up to me because they think I’ll be up for a chat. That’s the energy I give off. I might look lost, but I don’t want to chat about it!”
It comes after Beckett has stunned England players after landing a brilliant goal in training with the national team.
The comedian channeled his inner- Cristiano Ronaldo with a series of wonderful goals – with even Romesh Ranganathan admitting: “Genuinely, I am expecting Gareth Southgate to announce him in the England squad.”
The For The Love of Hip Hop Host continued: “He seems to be possessed by Cristiano Ronaldo. He’s done some sort of prayer, and Ronaldo, despite being alive, has entered Rob Beckett’s body.”
Beckett said: “It was like a dream. I got invited to the England training and scored loads of worldie goals. And I can’t really enjoy it, because Romesh is so sad.”
And those in the comments section were equally amazed. One wrote: “Jude’s reactions to Rob’s strikes are hilarious to watch.” Another wrote: “Great to see Luke Shaw in good spirits before the big tournament.”
A third stated: “All three strikes are genuinely excellent – different techniques for all 3 and he hit them with such accuracy and precision (inside foot for the free kick, through the laces for the second, a bit of shin for the volley). The way he positioned himself you can tell he knows what he is doing.”
