Mean Girls was released in 2004 and the iconic film made the careers of many of its cast members – but where are they now? Let’s take a deep dive into where the stars are in 2025

It’s been 21 years since we were graced with one of the most iconic films ever made, Mean Girls.

Arguably there has not been another film to match the cult impression it had on it’s fans, with references to the film still being made in this day and age frequently in other media and online.

The movie signed up big names for the 2004 classic which featured the likes of huge Hollywood stars such as Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams and Amanda Seyfried. But where are the cast of the iconic film nowadays? Let’s take a closer look…

Canadian starlet Rachel McAdams portrayed the ultimate mean girl in the box office smash, playing blonde bombshell Regina George. Her unforgettable character has achieved legendary status among fans.

Following her breakout role in the high school drama, Rachel secured another iconic film role opposite Ryan Gosling in The Notebook in 2004. She continued to grace the big screen in major films such as Wedding Crashers, The Vow, Game Night and Doctor Strange.

In 2018, Rachel had her first bub with her screenwriter beau Jamie Linden and then went on to have a second sprog with him in 2021.

Before she was smitten with Jamie, Rachel had a bit of a thing with her former co-stars Ryan Gosling and Martin Sheen from ‘Midnight in Paris’. Spilling the tea to ABC News about her old flames, she confessed: “A set may seem like a good place for romance, but I don’t think it’s very conducive; it’s too distracting.

“Every relationship I’ve had with a coworker has come after the fact, because you wind up actually spending a lot of time with those people promoting the movie.”

Lindsay Lohan as Cady Heron

Lindsay Lohan absolutely charmed the socks off fans as the unforgettable Cady Heron. But this wasn’t her first rodeo – the gal was already a big deal as a kiddie star, featuring in hits like ‘Parent Trap’ and ‘Freaky Friday’.

However, Lindsay’s life hit some serious turbulence in her twenties, and the one-time darling of Tinseltown turned into someone many fans hardly recognised. The lass became paparazzi prey thanks to her wild nights out, battles with the bottle, family feuds, and a merry-go-round of romances.

In May 2007, Lindsay found herself in hot water with a DUI and cocaine possession charge after she binned her motor in a boozy prang in Beverly Hills. Sadly, this was just the start of a laundry list of run-ins with the law for the troubled starlet.

In February 2011, CNN reported that the actress found herself in hot water once more, facing felony grand theft charges after allegedly nicking a necklace from a California jewellery store the previous month. The star pleaded no contest to a lesser charge and was slapped with a 120-day jail sentence.

The subsequent year saw Lindsay arrested on assault charges at a Chelsea nightclub. Following her string of arrests and stints in jail, Lindsay sought help in rehab in an attempt to turn her life around and revive her career.

Gradually, she began releasing new music under the radar and starred in a video-on-demand film titled Among The Shadows in 2019. She made her acting comeback in Netflix’s festive rom-com Falling For Christmas, released in November 2022, and lent her voice to Amazon Prime Video’s dating show, Lovestruck High.

A list purportedly belonging to Lindsay surfaced in 2014, alleging to detail her famous romantic exploits. Several well-known names featured on the list, including The Wanted heartthrob Max George, who previously confessed to a brief romance with the star.
